About thirty-five years ago our Founder and President, Cathy Preston, was toiling away as a recruiter for a contingency-based firm servicing the Packaged Goods Marketing sector gaining knowledge and experience that would pay huge dividends when she created her own search firm entity some 20 years on. Those “in between” years also proved valuable as Cathy devoted her career to the Marketing Services industry, culminating as President of Mosaic Marketing Services generating $80 million in annual revenue, and founding Mosaic Direct Marketing which became one of the top three direct marketing companies in the country. That’s where she learned all about the importance of having the right talent in the right role, as well as what it takes to deliver against financial growth targets year over year.
Having returned to the search industry in 2001, Cathy established Preston Human Capital Group in 2006. Since then Cathy and her team have conducted more than 400 search mandates while developing a reputation as being a stellar performer across multiple sectors and verticals. In recent years our emphasis has shifted considerably toward not-for-profit clients, primarily as a result of enjoying the intrinsic benefit of helping our community become a better place, coupled with the tendency to develop deeper, more caring and meaningful relationships with both clients and candidates alike.
We’re proud of our track record and proud to represent some of the best and brightest Brands in market. To hear about what others think of us please visit our testimonials page. Or better still, contact us directly and let’s get started on our own journey together!

While pursuing her Bachelor in Business Management degree from Dalhousie University with a specialization in Leadership and Organizations, Lindsay spent her summers working in the corporate world so as to gain relevant learning that would help jump start her career following graduation. Her first summer was in the Marketing Department at Four Seasons Hotels & Resorts corporate head office where she helped create their internal employee website that was used globally for employees to stay up on training, news, etc. The next year she interned at Artez Interactive, a leading provider of online fundraising solutions for non-profit organizations. There Lindsay focused on their website revamp, creating webinar content and on helping them plan for and market their annual conference. Her final summer was spent as part of the Corporate Development team at SickKids Foundation helping them maximize staff involvement throughout southwestern Ontario with corporations such as TD, Walmart and Costco.
Since then, Lindsay has been busy gaining valuable experience on the service and client side of business in both the not-for-profit and for-profit sectors. Her first fulltime role was in Advertising with Cundari Group, the largest independent full-service Marketing Services agency in Canada. There she learned the importance of time and project management, as well as the value in establishing client relationships that are based on trust and integrity. Within six months Lindsay was promoted to an Account Executive position. Her clients spanned not-for-profit (Canadian Cancer Society), education (George Brown College), and the financial sector (First National Bank).
The next stop on Lindsay’s journey was PayPal Canada. In her role as Consumer Marketing Manager, Lindsay was responsible for finding creative and strategic ways to engage the 5.5 million Canadian consumers who use their PayPal account on an annual basis. She worked alongside her agency partners (Publicis, Havas, Konrad Group, The Search Agency), and shared best practices with her global marketing team. Using data as her guide, Lindsay and her team produced the most successful marketing engagement campaign to date at PayPal Canada, resulting in a global internal award for Innovative and Game Changing creative.
Lindsay joined PHC in January 2017 and has quickly assimilated her accountabilities, providing timely and diligent support to Cathy on senior searches as well as managing her own mandates on junior-level assignments.
In Lindsay’s spare time you’ll find her hanging out with her beloved French Bulldog Penny (@penelopethefrenchie on Instagram!), happily inhaling the meals created by Cathy and enjoying the newlywed life with her husband Eddie.
