Key External Relationships: Key donors and funders (private, corporate, and governmental); Relevant regulatory leaders; Peers at the BC Women’s Health Foundation and Alberta Women’s Health Foundation in support of the Women’s Health Collective Canada strategic alliance

Executive Summary

The nature of a truly successful hospital foundation depends on a close alignment of philanthropic leadership with the aspirations and strategies of the hospital it serves. The President and Chief Executive Officer of the Women’s College Hospital Foundation (WCHF) will continue the close work with the leadership of Women’s College Hospital and the Foundation Board to understand and serve the hospital’s goals, its challenges, and its development needs. The President & CEO of WCHF will be an innovative, outgoing, magnetic leader who is driven to surpass targets and has a track record of inspiring a diverse team to the very highest standards. 

Responsibilities of the Role

The President & CEO will report to the Foundation Board and will continue to work closely and productively with Board Members, the CEO of the hospital, and the senior leadership teams of both organizations to grow and foster a culture of philanthropy and dynamic engagement as it seeks to achieve the goals set out in its Strategic Plan, Healthcare Revolutionized 2030.

The Strategic Directions of the new WCH 2025-2030 Plan are to:

  • Lead the New Era of Sex and Gender in Health

  • Move the needle on Health Equity

  • Reimagine the Health System with and for patients

The successful candidate will be a fundraising role model for the team, a person passionate about communicating the message of WHC’s meaningful new paradigm for healthcare and wellness delivery. Not just a sterling fundraiser, the new CEO will be a builder to lead transformative change, making the Foundation team ready and able to deliver a multi-million-dollar pipeline of major gifts ($1M+) and legacies in support for WCH. A pacesetter with a healthy sense of urgency and initiative, an active listener, the new CEO will create momentum in vigorous pursuit of WCHF’s fundraising goals.
